Eco Safe Driving

Eco-Safe Driving is a recognised and proven style of driving that contributes to road safety whilst reducing fuel consumption and emissions. If you make these changes, you could reduce your fuel bill

The short course will cover:

  • A better understanding of how to reduce fuel consumption (gears, accelerator, speed, braking)
  • Route planning & traffic congestion, understanding how this affects fuel consumption.
  • Route planning & traffic congestion, understanding how this affects fuel consumption.
  • How to improve planning & awareness skills.
  • How to carry out routine vehicle checks.

The route taken will cover urban & out of town road & traffic conditions. The variety will highlight any weaknesses & provide opportunities to improve our planning & driving skills, resulting in lower fuel consumption.

I can also give a commentary aided demonstration drive to show the principles:

  • Selective use of gears to speed so not to over work the engine.
  • Observation links; what I am anticipating & planning.
  • Acceleration sense & engine braking when approaching hazards & lower speed limits.
  • Forward planning; timing the speed on the approach to junctions to be able to flow into safe
    gaps in the traffic.
  • Progressive braking & dealing with closely following traffic.
